Santolina or Cotton Lavender is an aromatic, dwarf evergreen shrub with pinnately dissected silvery-gray foliage and dense, yellow, button-like flower heads in summer. It is a slow and compact plant with a globe-like growth habit therefore perfect for the miniature and fairy garden. It demands well-drained soil and you should allow it to dry out between watering. Tolerant of drought and coastal conditions. Attractive to butterflies and resistant to deer. Great for edging gardens or pathways. A traditional knot-garden plant.
