Care:

Succulents, known for their moisture-storing capacity, have evolved to survive hot environments. In general, the surrounding temperature should fall somewhere between 40 and 95 degrees F. They should be watered every 2 – 3 weeks. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. In the wintertime, you will need to water them less often. Overwatering can lead to leaf loss, misshapen leaves, root rot, and yellow leaves.

Most thrive with about 3 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Occasionally, too much sunlight can cause scorch marks and brown spots. With too little light, the plant may stretch its leaves outward.

These drought-resistant desert-dwellers are versatile and come in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes. Be sure to research your specific succulent variety to provide the care it needs.

Opt for less rich growing mediums when you are situating Ice Plants. They grow less well in rich soils.

Description:

Selected for its compact habit and prolific blooming capacity all summer long, this Saucy Strawberry Ice Plant will have brilliant flowers that will bloom on short succulent foliage. For this variety, pretty strawberry red is the color of the daisy-like blooms. With incredible flower power, it is just about the perfect plant for adding a splash of color to the alpine trough, fairy garden, or miniature garden. Its Ice Plant name comes from its succulent leaves which are covered with shimmering glands. This plant brightens up a hot, hot summer day.
