Care:

Succulents, known for their moisture-storing capacity, have evolved to survive hot environments. In general, the surrounding temperature should fall somewhere between 40 and 95 degrees F. They should be watered every 2 – 3 weeks. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. In the wintertime, you will need to water them less often. Overwatering can lead to leaf loss, misshapen leaves, root rot, and yellow leaves.

Most thrive with about 3 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Occasionally, too much sunlight can cause scorch marks and brown spots. With too little light, the plant may stretch its leaves outward.

These drought-resistant desert-dwellers are versatile and come in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes. Be sure to research your specific succulent variety to provide the care it needs.

This plant does not mind having its roots cramped in a small container.

Description:

Very interesting 5-pointed, yellow, star-shaped flowers that are banded in brown with a dark red lifesaver rim making it appropriately named Life Saver Plant. It is a low-growing succulent with succulent square stems growing soft teeth at the edges. The flowers emerge throughout the year. Life Saver Plant is very easy to grow. It requires full sun and going dry between waterings. It grows well on a sunny windowsill and will tolerate neglectful watering. But avoid letting it get too hot. Grow it in an extremely well-drained potting soil. Makes for a fun fairy garden plant.
