What Do Fairies Eat and Drink in the Miniature Garden?

In ancient Ireland, the offerings left out for our fae friends were usually a bowl of milk or freshly churned butter. As time moved on, the garden fairies began to experience growth in eating sweets and cakes, because of their plentiful and boundless appetites.  In today’s miniature gardens, the wee folk entertains thoughts about celebrations, and because of that, we do not want to be shy about the spread of food displayed in our fairy gardens. We are lucky that there are plenty of choices when it comes to miniature accessories that provide options for beverages and food.

Some miniature gardens are designed to represent large outdoor parties - it is a well-known fact that during the entire month of December, elves will take home much of the food served at the gatherings. It is as if they are a hive of honeybees collecting offerings and bringing the food back to a centralized location to share with their families and friends.  In many cases, a collection of food is left on a table to stave off the naughty tricks of confident, playful elves. When sharing fairy tales, the stories tell how fairies would lay offerings outside the front door of their fairy houses; it was to bribe elves into behaving well around their homes. The belief continues today that it is the elf who is frequently blamed for unexplainable accidents and mishaps that happen throughout the fairy gardens during December.

When planning a fairy garden party, I usually start with a table that could seat a gathering of loved ones. Such as a metal picnic table that comes in a bright pink color and accommodates at least a group of four. If I add some additional chairs to the ends or include another bistro set off to the side, the table holds at least six guests. Both ideas would be a way to host extra fairy friends.

After covering the table with a gingham cloth, you could start with your beverages of choice. I would recommend adding the Tub of Draft Cans on Ice, which is a large silver bucket full of ice, and include the Wire Basket with Bottles. The basket and bottles represent wine or mead ready for drinking during the party. Do not hesitate to add some sweets as well, such as Mom's Pie, which comes in a blueberry flavor and a cherry flavor. I would add a Supreme Pizza, which offers a pizza with all the fixings and include a side of fruit served on a white plate full of bright and colorful fruits. As you complete your selection of groceries, remember to choose foods that balance one another, making a feast that you may see at a real-life party. On the other hand, you could proceed in a completely different way, and create an entire menu of confections with cakes, cookies, and milkshakes as an offering to our sweet-toothed fairy garden friends.
