The Saxifraga x arendsii is a small alpine perennial with evergreen foliage. In early springtime, it provides scarlet red flowers for weeks at a time. It can be grown as a long-blooming groundcover, added to a rock garden, or displayed in a container. This plant is ideal for cooler regions, where its moss-like foliage isn’t in danger of drying out. The mat-forming foliage spreads down below, while the scarlet flowers create mounds of color. Consider for retaining walls or along the edge of border plantings.
Saxifraga x arendsii prefers moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Protect from drought and hot weather.
