Care:

If you grow Cissus discolor as a houseplant, consider letting it "summer" outdoors in truly bright sunlight. It likes warmth but will tolerate some chillier temperatures. If growing it outdoors, know that it appreciates consistent moisture. Indoors, you can wait until the top layer (1" or so) of soil dries before watering it. Feed this plant with a good liquid plant food during spring and summer. HIGH HUMIDITY!

Description:

This very rare plant will either climb with the help of tendrils or drape beautifully from a hanging container. Strong stems are decorated with multitudes of leaves that start out solid burgundy and then turn dark green with silvery white markings as they mature. The leaves have a slight iridescence, causing them to sparkle as they reflect the light. This is enhanced by their nice texture. Mature leaf-tops retain the gorgeous burgundy color in a strong central vein, other veining, and along the margins. Leaf undersides remain burgundy. One of the plant's common names, Tapestry Vine, pays tribute to this multicolored foliage.
