This plant likes a light, aerated soil and monthly feedings with a diluted liquid fertilizer. If growth slows quite a bit, the plant may be entering a brief dormancy, so water it less and do not fertilize it again until new growth appears. Craving higher humidity and consistent warmth, you will not want to place this plant near a drafty window. Likewise, you will not want to let it get scorched by light that is too bright. And although it flowers (similar to a peace lily flower), you will want to snip the bloom quickly so energy can be directed to the leaves.
