This Hardy Violet can withstand temperatures and outdoor stressors to the extent that, in zones 5-9, it is an ideal ground cover. With heart-shaped leaves that have burgundy centers and lime margins, its low-growing foliage has great appeal. Tiny violets spring up around April, before these leaves appear in fullest form; then the leaves fill out and become the focal point. Gorgeous in a front border.
