This sun-loving plant does not want pampering in the form of fertilizer or soil amendments. It does well in average and even poor soils, especially those that are not acidic. The soil must drain well. It is heat and drought resistant but does like regular watering. You can snip this plant for arrangements, but there is no need for deadheading, as this is a continuous bloomer all summer and into fall.

Catmint cannot be topped for great looks, fragrance, and staying power in the garden.
