The Beauty of Magic - How Fairy Gardens Can Change Your Life
Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? I know one of the things I did not count on when I started creating miniature gardens, was how often this question would pop into my head while I was creating a little bit of magic in my home. I would look at a broken, beat-up old container, and see it through new creative eyes. With a bit of bright paint and a silly theme of mermaids, Halloween, or summer time I could take something old and battered and make it a part of something magical. I think in order to be a miniature fairy gardener you need to be able to see the magic in everyday ordinary objects. It is such a lovely feeling to reuse and recycle old things, and it is even better when you can look at those objects and see the potential for what they can be, instead of what they are.
I can safely say that miniature gardening has become quite a stress reliever for me - similar to crocheting and walking my dogs. It is an activity that includes gnomes, fairies, holiday themes, parties, and vacations. There is no limit to how a person can use their miniature gardening talents and no limit to the brightness fairy gardens can bring into their lives. I was inspired to contemplate the goodness that this hobby has brought into my life when I saw one of the new accessories called “New Magic Fairy Door”. I giggled to myself when I saw that title and questioned, “What makes it magic?” It is sort of perfect right? When you are thinking about the good things in your life and reflecting how miniature gardening has influenced the positive, you will want to add to your next miniscape a fairy door that reads above it, “Everyday Holds New Magic”.
I am a big believer of inspiring others through my stories, my creations, and the things that I love. That is why I appreciate a small inspirational reminder that can be added to a Thanksgiving-themed fairy garden. It is a day to be grateful for the things that have happened this year – therefore it is also the perfect day to remember that even if the past three hundred and sixty five days have not been the best year of your life, all of us still have good days ahead. I think there is magic in miniature gardening – and I know there is magic in creating beautiful things. I am grateful every time I pull out a recycled container, add rich organic soil and begin landscaping a fairy garden with an assortment of miniature plants and fairy accessories, because it reminds me of the good that happens when I get my hands dirty, create, and let the magic become a part of my life.
