Care:

Succulents, known for their moisture-storing capacity, have evolved to survive hot environments. In general, the surrounding temperature should fall somewhere between 40 and 95 degrees F. They should be watered every 2 – 3 weeks. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. In the wintertime, you will need to water them less often. Overwatering can lead to leaf loss, misshapen leaves, root rot, and yellow leaves.

Most thrive with about 3 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Occasionally, too much sunlight can cause scorch marks and brown spots. With too little light, the plant may stretch its leaves outward.

These drought-resistant desert-dwellers are versatile and come in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes. Be sure to research your specific succulent variety to provide the care it needs.

This plant can be fertilized with a liquid plant food once per month during growing periods.

Description:

Haworthia is easy to grow. It requires very well drained soil to thrive. Place it in a sunny window, preferably a south facing window. Water it once every two to three weeks. Feed it 3 or 4 times per year, and it will be very happy. As the plant matures, offshoots may appear around the base of the plant. Occasionally it will send a long thin flower spike from the center of the plant where tiny baby offshoots will develop.
