Ice Plants are hardy, tolerating drought very well. Spring and summer blooms on this Desert Dancer plant are eye-catching red, with petals radiating from tiny yellow centers. The flowers look like perfect daisies but in the most striking red color. Plant in a gravel-based, sandy soil that has excellent drainage. The Ice Plant name comes from its succulent leaves which are covered with shimmering glands, giving it a slightly frosted, icy appearance.

This Ice Plant shows off magenta blooms on dark foliage. Foliage has some green, but it takes on purple, red, burgundy, and other deep tones depending upon growing conditions. This is a stunning plant for rock gardens, pathways, container plantings... perfect in hot and inhospitable conditions. Flowering all season long, from spring to fall, the blooms of this plant are made even more striking by the dark and multi-colored backdrop of its succulent foliage. It will attract pollinators and gardeners, not deer.
