Delospermum cooperi will thrive in full sun and in a wide range of soil types. Just be sure drainage is excellent, and hold off on the watering until the plant dries out quite drastically. This plant will not do well with wet feet. If you are mixing Ice Plants with others in a container arrangement, be sure the other plants in the mix will not need heavy watering, as soggy soil will be a detriment to your Ice Plants.

Ice Plants look so tropical, with their succulent foliage and bright-hot flower tones. And yet, they're perfect for not-so-tropical areas that experience four seasons. They are drought-tolerant and can maintain good flower cover from spring to fall. The Wheels of Wonder® plants have gradations of color making up their daisy-like blooms. In the case of the Hot Orange variety... well, you get the colorful picture. Used in containers or as ground covers, you will find little else that can offer such maintenance-free flower power. And if you look closely at the succulent foliage beneath all the blooms, you'll know why "ice" is part of this plant's name: ice crystal-like formations appear on the foliage, creating a sparkle in bright light.
