This plant prefers moist to well-drained soil. While it can tolerate some dryness, you will want to water it frequently.

Misting this plant on occasion will keep it healthy. It likes humidity, and moderate moisture, though no "wet feet". Use a slightly acidic potting mix, and place in an indoor location that gets dappled light. 

The Plumosa Fern is a popular houseplant due to its lacy, feathery look and interesting growth habit. From thin stems come planes of feathery foliage, light and airy and ready to catch a breeze as a door opens or someone passes by. Though not asparagus and certainly not edible, the fern's foliage is reminiscent of the tops of asparagus plants... and quite unlike most houseplants that you might have near a moderately bright windowsill.
