This plant prefers moist to well-drained soil. While it can tolerate some dryness, you will want to water it frequently.

Becoming overly dry may cause this plant to go dormant very briefly, until it is revived with a good watering. Keep in mind that this will do fine in sandy or clay soil.

You will find that planting this ground cover gives you felted green, fern-like foliage which creeps just above the soil to form a thick carpet. Works as a good ground cover, lawn substitute, between stepping stones, and in shady areas. Perfect in the miniature or fairy garden.
