Before You Get Started
If you already have some succulents growing in your home or garden you can break off pieces and use those for this succulent chest planter. Winter Greenhouse does not sell all the varieties we are showing in the video, but the 4 packs we offer would work very well as a substitute.
Layout and Design
Fill the chest with soil and then place the plants you want to use on the surface so you can see how they fit together in color.
Plant the larger plants first then tuck in the smaller plants. Add some moss along the sides as decoration. Reindeer Moss would be another option. It highlights the lime and orange colored plants. If you are taking cuttings it is wise to cut them 4-5 days ahead and let them callous over before sticking them in the soil.
How to Take Care of Your Fairy Garden
It is important to place this planter in the sun. The coloration of succulents is best with high light and cool nights. Water sparingly. Allowing it to dry out in between.
