This rare leafless plant has an unusual nickname and an even more unique look! Homalocladium platycladium, Ribbon Plant is also known as the “tapeworm plant.” Whether you call them ribbons or worms, the long, flattened, segmented stems that radiate up and outwards from this shrub are unusually beautiful.
Native to the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific, your Ribbon Plant will thrive with bright, indirect light and evenly-moist, well-draining soil. When given enough sunlight, it will produce white flowers and small red berries. The bushy group of ribbons can be trimmed to any length you desire and can be staked upwards for a vertical appearance. Grows fast!
