  Working at Winter Greenhouse you will be part of a dynamic team of people coming from many different backgrounds. The early season starts with planting and caring for seedlings and young plants. As the plants develop they are transplanted and moved to different locations where they are nurtured to maturity. This involves watering, fertilizing and cleaning, and giving them the required space. You will be on your feet bending and carrying, and doing lots of different things, so it is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and activity.

  As the spring develops you will be part of a team assisting all our enthusiastic customers by helping them select plants or other items, and checking them out at the till. At the Greenhouse we also have a gift shop and nursery where you may help at times. Then when our display gardens start to revive from the winter’s rest there will be some simple maintenance work to do there. The job begins in March and continues into the summer with a possibility for longer time employment (or repeated seasonal employment).

• Online Shop/Greenhouse Worker

  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help with our on-line shop packing plants. You will collect plants, wrap them and put them in parcels for shipping and will be on your feet most of the morning. It is a well organized work environment with kind and helpful co-workers. Check out our Online Shop's Plants section to get a better idea of the inventory and ideas behind the shop. We are busy early in March and then the hours will drop off later in the summer. If you would like to work full time you can help out with some greenhouse work as needed in the afternoons and later in the summer when shipping slows down. This work includes cleaning or spacing plants, or helping with transplanting, potting, watering etc. We hope you will consider joining our team!

• Nursery and Landscaping Worker

  Our nursery has a wide selection of trees, shrubs, evergreens, and fruits. Daily tasks include moving trees from our tree yard to our retail area, weeding and trimming trees and shrubs, pricing and organizing new inventory. You will also help customers select plants and give advice as needed. In early spring you may also make soil mixes and prepare flats for transplanting perennials and bedding plants.

  Outside of the busiest season there are many different things to do at the greenhouse including repairs and maintenance. Some handyman-skills are appreciated. We start in early April and work into November (depending on weather).

  Landscaping involves lots of digging, hauling and planting. You need to have a strong back and enjoy physical work. We plant trees, shrub, and perennials according to designs we make. We sometimes make small flagstone paths, or put edging around a flower bed. Soil amending, mulching and watering are standard practices. We create beautiful gardens for our landscaping customers, and have an enthusiastic team who love what they do and enjoy working together. Equipment knowledge is not needed for this job. When not landscaping for customers, we have plenty of yard-work and handyman work at the nursery. We begin landscaping in June and work into November - depending on the weather.

  We are looking for someone who has experience with landscaping and nursery work and is willing and capable of doing all the above activities. We have found that the landscaping and nursery work complement each other, and the experience is useful when helping customers.
