After a long summer doing lots of great work in the
garden, you need to pat yourself on the back now and
appreciate your work. (Chances are that nobody else
will do it, so why not just do it yourself?
)
Stroll through the garden and take notes. Garden
magazines suggest this to us every year, and guess
what? It is actually a wonderful idea. Right now the
memory is full of summer images of how it looked and
performed, but next spring you are already in doubt
how it actually did look. So take some notes and
some snapshots of what did well and what did not.
Then you already have a game plan for next year.

It is not fall without mums. Many of the varieties are showing their true color now and some are just about to break open.
